Everybody wants to build links these days. People are finally catching up with the reality in the SEO business. You can have the best title tags, meta tags, and even content on the WWW, but if you are not getting links to it, there is a good chance you are not maximizing your SEO opportunity. The topic of link building has always been attractive to folks outside the search business. People are intrigued with the possibility of getting thousands of free eyeballs to their sites each and everyday, but don’t quite know how to go about getting links. That’s why you see them spending a fortune on all these link-building courses.

One method that has worked over the years (and still works) is link-building with lists. I am talking about top 10, 20, 37 or whatever number lists you want to come up with. People love to read lists. And they love to link to great lists too. Just take a look at Twitter. Everyday thousands of folks post their lists to Twitter and get hundreds of links back (if their lists are any good). The good thing about this method is that it never gets old. If you create lists about dynamic topics, you are always going to have a chance that is fresher than anything that’s been done before (e.g. top 10 blogging books).

List building is subjective too which means your list is going to be different from most lists on the Internet. That’s why people love to read them, to learn and discover new things. The better and the fresher your list, the better chance you have of getting people to link to you.

So stop paying $100s for those link building courses. Use your imagination and create a list today. They really work.
