Link building should be on the top of your search engine optimization efforts. Research has shown time and time again that there is a limit to the ranking you can earn without a proper link building campaign. Directories are still a potent way to get one way links back to your web properties. Free and paid directories not only can help you improve your ranking, but they can also bring you targeted traffic.
The problem with submitting to directories is that it usually takes time (to sign up, optimize your anchor text, track results), and a whole lot of effort. If you are running a business, should you really be doing the directory submissions for yourself? The answer is a simple no. A lot of folks recommend using automated software packages to automatically submit to directories (e.g. article announcer). But these software packages are usually highly inefficient, and they make you do a portion of the work yourself (simply, overrated!).
The lesson I have learned from top SEOs is that you can’t do everything yourself, and you shouldn’t. Having the right partner can help you do more and be more successful. That’s why I went on a mission to find a SEO partner that would take care of my directory submissions for me. That’s where Directory Maximizer comes into play. After playing a few directory submission solutions, I have finally found the one that does everything it is expected to do without asking a huge premium fee.
Directory Maximizer allows you to submit to hundreds of free directories on the fly, and it will cost you only 14 cents per submission. You can also choose to submit to paid directories through the service, and they take care of that for your as well. But before we go any further, let me show you why Directory Maximizer is worth every penny and more.

Once you sign up for a free account on Directory Maximizer, you are going to see the above interface. From your dashboard, you can add your websites and submit them to directories. You can also view reports per site. If you have already submitted your URLs to other directories, you can use the “upload submissions” feature to submit those listings to avoid duplicate submissions. As you can see in the above figure, Directory Maximizer gives you rewards (MX rewards) for every dollar you spend on it (You get 3% back per every dollar). Each $MX dollar is equivalent to $1 that you can use towards future submissions.
Adding a site to Directory Maximizer is easy. All you have to do is provide your URL, your contact name, and your e-mail plus the categories and keywords that you want to use for your listing. You want to make sure you give them a working e-mail as directories send confirmation emails to that e-mail. But the most important feature here is the ability to add multiple title and descriptions for your listings. That allows you to choose up to 5 different anchor texts and descriptions for your listings.

Directory Maximizer also allows you to submit by budget, PR, or the number of directories you want to be listed on. Now, you may be worried about submitting to all directories in one week. After all, Google does get suspicious when you amass links in a short period of time. That’s why I love Directory Maximizer. It allows you to control the speed too (see below).

Not everyone gets started with Directory Maximizer in the first place. You may have already used a software package to submit to directories before. By using the “upload submissions” feature, you can make sure you avoid duplicate submissions.

Finally, you may decide that submitting to thousands of free directories is not all you are after. You can use Directory Maximizer to submit to paid directories. That is going to be more expensive, but there are a few decent high PR directories that you probably need to submit your site to improve your PR.

Once you submit your site to Directory Maximizer, you start getting emails back from directories. Some of these directories may ask you to click on a link to verify your submission (so you shouldn’t get rid of those emails right away). You can access your directory stats through the reports section.
Directory Maximizer has worked very well for me. I don’t have to worry about filling out forms or submitting to directories by hand. I just set it and forget it. I do use their rotating anchor text feature to define 5 different listing titles for my sites. Other than that, these guys take care of everything else for me. I do encourage you to sign up for Directory Maximizer and take a look around (see the tutorials and so on). It’s free. I can tell you one thing though: submitting to directories has never been this much fun.

Hey I signed up for their service after reading this post of yours and I couldn’t agree better with you that it’s never been this much fun before…
I used to spend hours together and it was getting quite frustrating.
Thanks for the feedback!
Mark,
I am glad you like them. I wouldn’t recommend these guys if they weren’t good. Directory submissions are not everything but they still work. And I think 14 cents per submission is well worth it if you value your time at even $15 an hour.

Seen so many of these types of services around, I have looked into the directories some companies are using and they are not worth 14 cents per submission! Not to say this company is the same, however, there are so many directories around now that you ask yourself if it is really worth it?
Well, I tried them and they suck! I sent emails that were never answered. Campaigns were deactivated for no particular reason, they changed descriptions and mis-spelled words, reassigned titles to descriptions. I wouldn’t suggest that anyone sign up.
Peet,
I am sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience. I have had nothing but positive to say about those guys. I don’t now what happened in your case, but I have been using these guys for a while now and they always deliver.
I also used their service for 500 submissions but u know what i didn’t have any problems. Their service & interaction was ok with me… even starting to see results now
Hi Guys,
I represent Directory Maximizer & would like to take this opportunity to mention a few new additions to our service, that we’ve come up with recently… (Panah only with your permission)
Vary your Titles & Descriptions even more… That’s right, we now allow you to add up to 20 titles & descriptions to your account while making the submissions, so go ahead and increase your link popularity even more.
Email Handling – With this service addition, you can forget the long hours you used to spend in checking & acting on the emails from the directories. Now at a nominal cost, we will create a brand new email account for you & handle all the emails that directories send out and act on those wherever required. Helping you save EVEN MORE TIME!
I’d also like to take this opportunity to address Peet…
To begin with, Peet I’m extremely sorry that you had to go through all these hardships that you mention out here. We operate with a very high value system in place, one of which is to have the world’s best customer service, so it pains me to learn about your experience with us. I humbly request you to drop me an email about the issues you faced while using our service at my personal id, kunaldavid[at]maximizer[-]e[-]services[dot]com & I’ll do my best to try and turn things around for you and change your opinion of our service.
Best regards,
Kunal David

Directory Maximizer
Keep up the good work, Kunal
I have been using all of their services and they are the best! They provide wonderful social and directory services that have given me excellent results. I am too busy to handle such things and they are doing great for very little pay. And they stay in contact interacting with me to make sure everything is going accordingly. I highly recommend them to everyone!
They can be a decent value for those that want to top up some links. They do make the occassional odd mistake though. Just make sure to double check.
I just signed up with them and bought service for 300+ submissions. Fingers crossed. I hope it will do me great. How did it help your site?
The results are great. Just make sure you don’t over do it. The key with success with directories is by putting some time between each batch. I think the company does it automatically to protect your ratings. I have been using Directory Maximizer for quite a while now. As long as you don’t misspell your keywords and don’t ignore the e-mails that directories send you, ou should be fine. Some directories do ask you to confirm your listing. Sometimes, free directories become paid. In that case, you get a refund. My site was penalized a while ago and lost all its PR due to my web host going out of business but I got the PR back to 3 with the help of Directory Maximizer. Don’t forget to try social Maximizer as well. That’s pretty decent as well.
I’ve tried their Directory Maximizer as well as Social Maximizer sites & have have nothing but good experience with them…I think they really give importance to customer experience & service.
Their sites are easy to use & issues have been resolved promptly
I Like!
I use them myself. I would never recommend a service that I don’t use or don’t know. Of course, I do hope social maximizer is improved dramatically as it has big potential
