Yahoo + AOL: A Shaqtastic Deal?

A few days ago when the news broke that Shaq was getting traded to the Phoenix Suns, I thought to myself “wait a sec, say what?” Now a few days after the fact you can see what people were complaining about. Shaq is old, slow, but most of all does not add enough value to the Suns to justify his trade. Now going back to Yahoo, there were rumors the other day that Yahoo! was thinking of a merger with AOL. That got to be the most ridiculous solution a board can come up with to save Yahoo! Are you telling me that Yahoo! is better off with a has been such as AOL or a giant such as Microsoft. Sure. Microsoft is not exactly the most innovative company around, but they know what they want and that is to be the No. 1 in search and advertising industry. AOL, unfortunately, never had any idea what it takes to succeed in the Internet era, and they still don’t (I can’t see it at least). So in the one hand you have Yahoo! the falling Internet superstar. In the other hand, you have AOL a has been Internet star. Now if that is not marriage from hell, then I don’t know what is. Steve Kerr’s trade for Shaq would look like a novelty comparing to YahooAol!
